Bavaria

Bavaria (German: Bayern), officially called the Free State of Bavaria (Freistaat Bayern), is located in the south-east of Germany and is one of the sixteen German Länder. Its capital is Munich. It is named Boiaria, Bajuvaria or simply Bavaria in Latin, Bayern in German. These names come from the people of the Bavarii or Baiuvarii (name also transcribed in "Bayouvares") who occupied it.
