The cat roams (Le chat déambule)

Twenty statues of the Cat, imagined by the Belgian designer Philippe Geluck, posed with humor and philosophy on the Quai Wilson in Geneva. After having met with great success in Paris, Bordeaux and Caen, the exhibition “Le Chat déambule” is taking up residence in Geneva. These twenty monumental statues depict the famous comic book hero Le Chat, by Philippe Geluck. According to the designer and sculptor, some of his felines which peak at 2 meters in height and each weigh 2.5 tonnes are militant, such as the cat which crushes a car, the martyrdom of the Cat, in homage to the cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo assassinated -e-s, and the Cat-Atlas, who painfully carries a sphere full of plastic bottles. Other statues intrigue, make people smile or refer to artists.
